Google Maintains its Brand Creatively
I really Digg how Google can maintain its brand while still exploring creative treatments of the Google logo.
I recommend to all my clients that they develop and document their Brand Identity Guide. I think that–with a glance–the audience should know immediatly who the marketing message is from.
We often use multiple designers throughout our organization to develop visually impactful pieces, and its important to establish guidelines so the brand is represented as intended. But, Google proves that a brand can maintain its integrity while still offering creativity, variation and differentiation.
I just found a nice article from Logo Orange on the Corporate Identity Manual (Brand Style Guide), but it’s important to know when some rules can be broken.
